Some Artists and Art Blogs I check regularly...
Final Project
For my final project I wanted to incorporate a few things. I wanted to draw on cardboard, i wanted to use symmetry, i wanted to use more than one medium, and i wanted to create something completely out of my own head.
I drew half a face in my sketch book ( which i've lost) i then scanned the images into photoshop and mirrored the images to create the whole face of the mask. I then screen printed the outlines onto cardboard. Then continued to colour the images using posca pens and paint. then finished of the piece with black fineliner.

Playing Cards.
I created this king image as a screen print for the back of my cards. I then created a sword image in photoshop and created my whole alphabet using the sword.
Bad Taste
In this project I started with these three water colours but after review found that maybe they weren't quite bad taste enough.
I then created these images in photoshop, which contain the punch line to some jokes that may well be funny but are also steeped in bad taste. But I realised that without the jokes themselves that these postcards equally weren't in particularly bad taste.
So finally I created these screen prints which tell my bad taste jokes.
Brave New World
When first hearing about this project I was not particularly enthused. To read 'Brave New World' and create images from the book. Although I like reading I really didn't think Aldous Huxleys 'Brave New World' was going to be for me. But in the end I really enjoyed the book and the project as well. Some of my favorite pieces from the year came out of this project. I also liked working from a book so much that I continued to do so for my personal projects within printmaking, where I created pieces from the books; 'Animal Farm', 'White Fang', and 'Life of Pi'.

When making this piece I thought about the different class systems and how they were conditioned into being however society decided they should be, as well as the way they were pleased about it. I used an image from my sketchbook traced and flipped as I wanted the two characters in the image to look identical. as they may well have in the book.

In this piece I was trying to show the different societies within that we are shown within the book. The brainwashed civilized folk of the cities and the savages who live in sectioned of reservations.
3.
When making this piece I was trying to recreate 'Lenina Brown' who is almost the beauty of the book. At first I was going for a sort of art nouveau style image but then decide that, that style didn't really work for a piece from brave as everything in brave new world is for function not aesthetics/
4.
For this image I was trying to represent the three main characters from the book, i used references to draw the faces then, traced my drawing so I could test out different layouts for the image, before creating my final piece.

Beauty in the Mundane
For me in this project my aim was to try and find interesting imagery within everyday life. first off I collected source material by taking photos I did a lot of close up shots in an attempt to focus on the unnoticed things that we see everyday that have the potential to show beauty.

Although I found this project to be a bit Mundane at times. I do think I learn't alot in terms of drawing from images as well as this I think the amount of drawing to spent also helped to develop my drawing abilities.
